Privacy Policy

The AMVIS in-vehicle system processes video on the device, in the cruiser. No raw video and no vehicle profiles are transmitted off the unit. Operational data belongs to the agency. This website collects only what you send us when you ask for a pilot.

AMVIS runs on edge hardware installed in a police vehicle. It reads license plates and identifies vehicle make, model, year, and colour to detect mismatches between a plate and the vehicle wearing it. This processing happens entirely on the device.

Raw camera feeds are not stored off-device and are not sent to any cloud service by the system. Plate reads, detections, and alerts are retained on the unit and are owned and controlled by the deploying agency, which determines retention and access under its own records and privacy obligations.

During a pilot, and only if the agency agrees in writing, AMVIS may receive limited, non-identifiable system telemetry (hardware diagnostics, performance logs, and non-identifiable model-accuracy metrics) for the sole purpose of improving the product. This excludes any personal information and any query tied to a specific individual. We do not sell, lease, or share this data with third parties.

Because AMVIS processes on-device and does not move raw data off the vehicle, it is designed to align with Quebec’s Law 25 and Canada’s PIPEDA by architecture rather than by policy alone. Agencies remain the controllers of any personal information the system handles.

When you submit the pilot-request form, we collect the name, agency, email, role, and notes you provide, and we use them only to respond to your request. We do not sell this information. The form is handled by a form-delivery provider that relays the message to us by email; we retain it only as long as needed to follow up.

This site does not run advertising trackers. Basic, aggregate hosting analytics may be collected by our host to keep the site running.

You can ask us what contact information we hold for you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing the address in your pilot correspondence. Agencies control access, correction, and deletion of any operational data held on their AMVIS units.

We will update this policy as AMVIS moves from pilot to general availability, and will note the date above. Questions about privacy can be raised through the pilot-request form on this site.
